ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS | WOOLLAHRA 2012

A family home that needed to have all the piecemeal renovations removed and rebuilt into a cohesive family home.

This house had compromised bedrooms in the second storey attic spaces when the client requested that the house be renovated to accommodate the family of five. The top level was removed, except for one space, and a second story was built over the reconfigured ground floor living area.

This was a project to make a dysfunctional layout work better for a family and by moving the Kitchen to the heart of the house rather than the cramped secondary space which it previously occupied, made all the difference. Once the clients accepted the flipping of the spaces, the function and flow of the house completely changed and allows for an easy house to live and entertain in.
