We were asked to add a room and update this house built in the 1980's which sits adjacent to land reserved for Sydney Water. We assisted with the negotiations to purchase the air rights to build over the reserved land and were able to open up the existing living room to a new study space lined with books, with exterior walls clad zinc, to complement the grey coloured face brick of the original house. Our client has many decorative ceramics and other objects gleaned from travels which were important to showcase in the kitchen renovation. The ceilings were given an acoustic treatment of timber slats to add warmth to the hard surfaces.
