NEW DWELLING | KANGAROO VALLEY 2014

A wonderful collaboration between Client, Builder, Architect and site is at the heart of this project.

This property has been crafted over a number of years working closely with a visionary Client and a true craftsman Builder (with a background in metalwork). The result are some very comfortable spaces housed within structures that are constructed mainly with recycled materials. We sourced the majority of the timbers from a warehouse being demolished in Zetland. The walls were clad externally in rusted corrugated iron; some of which was recycled from the local community hall when it was re-roofed. Roofs were new zincalume as they are the catchment for water supply to the dwelling. We brought sinks down to site that were being removed from other demolition sites in Sydney. Once there we would then work out the best way to fit the sinks and taps.

The key to this project was the collaboration and consultation with all parties being involved at all stages. Everyone contributed across the team.
