This property is a listed Heritage Item and we were asked to alter the functions within the house to be a more functional family home. We had renovated a previous property for these clients some 15 years before and therefore there was an easy client/architect relationship from the start.


There were hurdles in relation to the Heritage requirements and we managed to alter the original proposal to accommodate both the Council’s concerns and still arrive at a design solution that satisfied the client's requirements. This unusual family home now functions well with a new double garage linked internally with a new staircase and entertaining terrace over. The property has two street frontages and the planter box over the garage has allowed for privacy despite the house's exposure on that side.
